Through this exhibition, evolutionary botanist Óscar Alejandro Pérez-Escobar, researcher Carmen Posada Monroy—an expert in food systems, sustainability, and ecology—and designer Luisa Brando explore possible futures for art through a critical lens: the recognition that the conservation of nature is not only an ecological imperative and a moral right, but also an aesthetic, cultural, and ethical challenge.


Within the framework of the ARCO 2026 Guest Circuit, the Embassy of Colombia in Spain, through the Cultural Diplomacy strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the exhibition “The Future is Botanical: Science, Lived Experiences, and Relations of the Living.” On view until May 14 at the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center of the Embassy.
